NASHVILLE, TN, November 9, 2004 — For the 11th consecutive year, Audio-Technica has supported the Country Music Association Awards by providing the majority of vocal and instrument microphones for its annual awards show in Nashville. Held November 9th at the world-famous Grand Ole Opry House, this year’s event featured over 200 hard-wired and wireless Audio-Technica microphones. From backline vocal and instrument mics to frontline wireless systems for leading country artists such as Kenny Chesney, George Strait and Randy Travis, Audio-Technica was chosen to provide its clear and consistent quality for this star-studded live broadcast.

Hosted by the legendary duo Brooks & Dunn, recipients of 13 CMA Awards and 41 Nominations, the 38th Annual CMA Awards presentation ceremony dazzled audiences with more than 24 landmark performances and collaborations from many of today’s top acts in country music and other genres. Once again, Audio-Technica microphones were featured overwhelmingly for their accurate and reliable sound reproduction — characteristics that have dictated A-T’s long-standing presence at all Grand Ole Opry shows. Performers using the acclaimed Audio-Technica Artist Elite® 5000 Series UHF Wireless System, with the AEW-T3300 microphone and AEW-R5200 true diversity frequency-agile dual receiver, included CMA Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney, 15-time CMA winner George Strait, and 5-time CMA recipient Randy Travis. A wide array of Audio-Technica hard-wired mics were also employed for the broadcast, including the AE3000 and ATM23HE on guitar cabinets, AT4033, AT4040, and AT4050 on overheads, AT4041 for hi-hat, ATM25 on kick drum and Leslie bottom, and ATM35 for toms.

Famed audio engineer/producer/mixer Elliot Scheiner, who was Audio Producer of this year’s CMA Awards show, commented, “For a broadcast that is considered country music’s biggest night, I’m glad that we had an extensive selection of Audio-Technica wired and wireless mics on stage. I’ve worked with A-T on many live shows where you only get one chance to get it right, and once again, the A-T mics performed perfectly."

In addition, Audio-Technica endorsee Kenny Chesney took home top honors winning Album of the Year for "When the Sun Goes Down," as well as Entertainer of the Year.

The 38th Annual CMA Awards show was broadcast live on the CBS Television Network to an audience of millions worldwide. For more information on the CMA Awards, please visit www.cmaawards.com.
